The China Fleet Aqua Spa, nestled in Saltash, represents the epitome of contemporary and luxury spa facilities.
Tasked with transforming a once tired and dated space, Designs Unlimited was commissioned to spearhead a complete overhaul, aiming to position the spa as a market leader in wellness and relaxation.
Challenge
As the spa's allure began to wane, our client faced the pressing need to rejuvenate and modernise the facility. The ambition was not only to retain existing clientele but also to expand its reach, attracting new members and promoting specialist spa breaks to a broader audience. The project demanded a design that could navigate the delicate balance between innovative spa experiences and the serene ambiance essential for relaxation.
Solution
Our approach was meticulous, conceptualising a spa "journey" that harmoniously transitions from warm to hot to cold experiences. The redesigned layout includes a variety of cabins - steam, salt inhalation, and sauna, complemented by foot spas, a spa pool, experience showers, an ice feature, and tepidarium loungers. A relaxation area offers panoramic views across the golf course and is the perfect backdrop for tranquillity.

Attention to detail was paramount, with a focus on light, natural materials such as high-quality tiling and stone. Mood, accent, and detail lighting were carefully integrated to enhance the spa's atmosphere, crowned by a colour-changing bubble wall that has become a cherished feature for its calming effects.
Outcome
The transformation has been met with overwhelming approval from both the client and its patrons. Membership and customer numbers have seen a significant uptick, affirming The China Fleet Aqua Spa's status as a premier destination for those seeking a luxurious escape and rejuvenating experiences.
